49ers Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , not Colin Kaepernick The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday that quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Spirits are down, but the team is already moving forward to figure out next steps.C.J. Beathard takes over the starting quarterback, and head coach Kyle Shanahan said the team will promote Nick Mullens from the practice squad this week. However, the team is also going to work out several veterans on Tuesday. Shanahan said the team will bring in Tom Savage, Kellen Clemens, and T.J. Yates, and they had reached out to Matt Moore but had not heard back. Fooch’s update: Add in Landry JonesShanahan was asked if the team would consider bringing in Colin Kaepernick, and the coach said no they had not. He said they had looked at the situation last year and decided it was not a style fit. For the current situation, he said he wants to bring in players who would require less of a change in the offense. The 49ers return to practice on Wednesday, at which point we’ll know if they plan on having a third veteran option at quarterback. The team has until Saturday to add a player, but if they are bringing in a quarterback that is not currently in the organization, they’ll get him in Wednesday to get up to speed on the playbook and with practice reps. The team can wait until Saturday to officially promote Nick Mullens, so one option would be signing a QB when they place Garoppolo on IR, and then deciding if Mullens makes more sense — in which case, they can release the recently signed QB.All this is to say, we’ll find out more on Wednesday.Which non-49ers game are you looking forward to in Week 6? Welcome to Week 6 of the NFL season. It began after watching the New York Giants get thumped by the Philadelphia Eagles and now it continues with a nice slate of games. The best part is the 49ers play on Monday Night Football, which means we have a full slate of Sunday games that we can enjoy without having to miss them due to watching something else. The big game is the Sunday Night Football game where the Kansas City Chiefs face the New England Patriots. While the Patriots may have lost a step this year 49ers Mike Person Jersey , I still think that is going to be an entertaining game. If anyone can figure Patrick Mahomes out, it’s the Patriots. I do think the Patriots will get beat, but it’s going to be an entertaining game nonetheless. Also in some sadistic sort of way, I am curious about the Arizona Cardinals vs. Minnesota Vikings. If the Cardinals can beat the Vikings in Minnesota, it’d be the ultimate kick to the gut considering how the 49ers struggled there a few weeks back. The Vikings did let the Buffalo Bills dominate them a few weeks back, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens. What do you want to watch?
